Regulatory Requirements for Heavy-Lift Drones:

  • Weight and Classification: The Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) for agricultural purposes weighs at least 55 lbs (including the weight of the substance being displaced). It falls under the regulations specified in 14 CFR Part 47, which governs Aircraft Registration.

  • Part 107 Pilot License: To operate the agricultural UAS, you must obtain or already hold a Part 107 Pilot License. This license is issued by the FAA and confirms that you possess the necessary knowledge and skills for safe operation.

Important Updates:

  • Expiration of Section 44807: The FAA Exemption granted by Section 44807 expired on September 30, 2023. As a result, compliance with all regulations is now mandatory, and previous exemptions are no longer valid.

  • Remote ID Compliance: Drone pilots have been expected to comply with Remote ID requirements since September 16, 2023. However, the FAA will consider relevant factors to determine enforcement through March 16, 2024.

Overview

This product is a diesel-electric hybrid multi-rotor configuration. Compared with conventional fixed-wing aircraft, rotary-wing aircraft have many advantages of low-altitude flight, so rotary-wing aircraft are also widely used in various fields of society such as aerial photography, agricultural monitoring and pesticide spraying, geological exploration and mapping, etc. However, according to the actual application of the current rotorcraft aircraft, there are still obvious deficiencies in both electric and oil-powered rotor aircraft, such as the short heavy-duty flight time of electric rotorcraft aircraft, the need to replace batteries frequently for long-term operation, the long battery charging time and the need for multiple backup batteries, etc., while although the oil-powered rotorcraft is suitable for long-term heavy-duty flight, the oil engine is prone to air parking and crash, and the reliability is not high.

Overall Scheme of the System

The AF-100 Titan system is mainly composed of an aircraft platform frame, a power system, a navigation flight control system, a ground control system, a hybrid engine system and a power generation system.

Aircraft Platform Rack

THE FRAME IS DESIGNED TO BE 6-AXES, THE FRAME BODY IS COMPOSED OF HIGH-STRENGTH 7075 AEROSPACE ALUMINUM AND CARBON FIBER, THE ARM IS MADE OF T700 CARBON FIBER TUBE DIAMETER OF 60MM, AND THE TRIPOD IS SLIDING AND WARPED WITH HIGH-STRENGTH 7075 aviation aluminum; the wheelbase is shown in the appearance size drawing, the frame is folded for easy transportation, the folded size is shown in Figure (4), the internal design of the frame is a hybrid generator and a backup battery compartment, and the total weight of the frame is 35 kg.

Navigation Flight Control System

This UAV system adopts the standard version of the multi-rotor flight control system AF-386P multi-rotor flight control system, which supports multi-rotor UAVs of various configurations such as four-rotor, six-rotor, eight-rotoral, four-rotor and eight-propeller, supports gas-powered multi-rotor UAVs, supports pod follow-up, autonomous take-off and landing of moving platforms, multi-aircraft stations, cluster formation and other functions.

Features

The flight control system adopts self-developed high-precision GPS/SINS/AHRS navigation algorithm with a 400Hz update frequency. The flight control system adopts a self-developed strong robust and strong tracking nonlinear adaptive control algorithm, the inner loop is mainly based on angular rate + attitude multi-scale fusion control to ensure flight stability, and the outer loop adopts 3-dimensional position + speed coupling nested control. Ground Control System

AF-308 is a handheld data transmission monitoring system for individual soldiers that integrates remote control, data transmission and ground station. The AF-308 inherits the T21 with high integration, small size, convenient operation, multi-channel adjustability, and dual S-BUS output and other features. Compared with the T21, the performance configuration of the computer has been greatly improved, the circuit design of the remote control has been optimized, the number of channels has been increased from 16 to 23, and the data transmission anti-interference power supply has also been improved. The AF-308 Dual S-BUS can use 1 of 8 analog channels, 4 three-speed switches, and 11 buttons per channel are the return icons, and all the keys can be mapped at will. AF-308 WORKS IN 840MHz, 915MHZ, 1.4GHZ, 2.3-2.5GHZ FREQUENCY BAND, AND CAN BE USED IN 3~30KM ACCORDING TO DIFFERENT VERSIONS AND ENVIRONMENTS provides stable data transmission over distance. It is widely used in the field of control and data transmission of industrial drones.
